Two Crested Ibis Chicks have successfully left their Nest
The Ministry of the Environment is pleased to announce that two crested ibis chicks have successfully left their nest which was built within a cage atop a tree in the Toki Reintroduction Center, Sado City, Niigata Prefecture. The cage was built to acclimatize the nestlings to the wild.
A total of 17 crested ibises are currently undergoing training in preparation for their trial release into the wild, as planned for autumn this year.
