Manual Published for the Excavation and Storage of Agricultural Chemicals Stored Underground Results of Public Comments Released (from Sep. 14 to Oct. 15, 2007.)

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) published the Manual for the Excavation and Storage of Agricultural Chemicals Stored Underground on January 17, 2008.

This manual is a revision of the Provisional Manual for Excavation, on March 30,2005.

The revision has been made to reflect the current situation regarding excavation sites and to incorporate the intent behind the soil Contamination Countermeasures Law of Japan in the handling and treatment of soil polluted by persistent organic pollutants.
The manual's translation into English is currently underway.
