Cabinet Decision on the Third National Biodiversity Strategy of Japan

The Third National Biodiversity Strategy of Japan is to be decided upon by the cabinet on November 27, 2007.
The second strategy approved in 2002, was to be reviewed within an approximate five-year period after the approval. In April 2007, the Minister of the Environment consulted the Central Environment Council on the review. The Council submitted a proposal to the Minister on November 14, 2007, after having seven months' deliberations as well as taking into account related public comments. The cabinet will decide the strategy based on the proposal.
