The Third Plenary Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Forum for Environment and Development in the Second Phase (APFEDII) Held

The third plenary meeting of the Asia-Pacific Forum for Environment and Development in the Second Phase (APFEDII) was held on August 24 and 25, 2007 in Chengdu, China.
The APFED is a forum of eminent persons established in 2001 with a mission to propose a model of equitable and sustainable development for the Asia-Pacific region.
In this meeting, progress on the activities of the APFEDII were reported and discussed.
A ceremony for the Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Awards was held to commend activities deemed to be good practices, which contribute to promoting socially equitable and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
Environment Minister Wakabayashi attended the reception on August 24th and expressed his expectations for the activities of the forum in regards to the measures against climate change and the promotion of sustainable development in the region.
