Export Confirmation and Import Permission of Wastes under the Waste Management Law in 2005

The Ministry of the Environment has published a summary of export confirmations and import permissions of wastes issued by the Minister of the Environment from January to December 2005 under the Waste Management and Public Cleansing Law (the Waste Management Law). The number of export confirmations and import permissions of wastes totaled 45 cases (totaling 689,460 tons) and 3 cases (totaling 12 tons) respectively. All of the exported wastes were ash from coal fired power plants destined for cement production. Imported wastes included waste fluorescent lamps and waste photoreceptors, all of which were for the purpose of metal recovery and/or glass recycling.
