Closure of the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden Greenhouse
The Minister of the Environment has announced the construction of a new greenhouse starting in FY 2008, in order to further promote conservation of endangered plants, to maintain historical heritage, etc.
The new greenhouse will be constructed in the same general area as the current one. For mitigation of the plants, the current greenhouse will be closed on May 14th, 2007, with the new greenhouse scheduled to be opened in 2011.
