Amount of Fluorocarbons Recovered from Motor Vehicle Air-Conditioners in FY 2004
The Ministry of the Environment published the amount of fluorocarbons recovered from motor vehicle air-conditioners in FY 2004 on March 20, 2006.
In FY 2004* , a total of 577 tons of fluorocarbons was recovered from motor vehicle air-conditioners, of which 433 tons were delivered to automobile manufacturers for destruction under the Fluorocarbons Recovery and Destruction Law.
On January 1, 2005, the law's provisions related to motor vehicle air-conditioners were transferred to the Automobile Recycling Law, thus recovery of fluorocarbons from motor vehicle air-conditioners is now implemented under the framework of the Automobile Recycling Law.
