The Central Environment Council reports on "Necessary measures to be taken in the future based on the state of enforcement of the Invasive Alien Species Act"

On August 18, 2021, the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries consulted with the Chairman of the Central Environment Council regarding "Necessary measures to be taken in the future based on the state of enforcement of the Act on the Prevention of Ecosystem Damage by Designated Invasive Alien Species".

In response to this request, the Wildlife Subcommittee of the Natural Environment Subcommittee of the Council discussed the issue.

As for the draft report compiled by the Subcommittee, a public comment session was held from October 15, 2021 to November 15, 2021, and a total of 132 opinions were received from 58 organizations and individuals.

Based on these results, on December 23, 2021, the 27th Subcommittee deliberated on the issue which was compiled and submitted to the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on January 11, 2022.
