The Government of Japan submitted the request to list the following seven species which are endemic to Japan on CITES Appendix III to CITES secretariat.

Echinotriton andersoni (Anderson's crocodile newt, or Ryukyu spiny newt)

In accordance with the Convention, the list submitted will be communicated to the Parties by the Secretariat as soon as possible after receiving it. The list will take effect as part of Appendix III 90 days after the date of such communication.
