Public Comments invited regarding the new designation of Invasive Alien Species

At the Invasive Alien Species Experts Meeting held in June 2020, the following organisms were considered appropriate to be designated as Invasive Alien Species (IAS);

Lepisiota frauenfeldi, Solenopsis geminata species group, S. saevissima species group, S. tridens species group, S. virulens species group, any living hybrid organisms of species of S. geminata species group, S. saevissima species group, S. tridens species group and S. virulens species group, Dikerogammarus villosus, any species of the family Astacidae, any species of the family Cambaridae excluding Procambarus clarkii, any species of the family Cambaroididae excluding Cambaroides japonicus, any species of the family Parastacidae, Utricularia cf. platensis, U. inflata, and U. platensis

The MOE is inviting comments from the public regarding the IAS designation of the Order for Enforcement of the Invasive Alien Species Act (Cabinet Order No.169 of 2005). Comments will be accepted from August 6 to September 5, 2020.

All procedures related to this invitation for public comments will be conducted in Japanese. Comments need to be submitted in Japanese.
