Submission of Japan's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC)

1. Background

In the Paris Agreement and the decision of the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2015, Parties are requested to communicate or update their NDCs by 2020, and required to submit their NDCs 9 to 12 months in advance of the relevant session of the COP with a view to facilitating the clarity, transparency and understanding.

Based on this, the Global Warming Prevention Headquarters decided "Submission of Japan's NDC" on March 30, 2020.

This NDC will be submitted to the UNFCCC Secretariat as soon as possible.
