Results of the 1st China-Japan Marine Debris Workshop

In accordance with the consensus achieved by the State Oceanic Administration (hereinafter referred to as SOA) of the People's Republic of China and Ministry of the Environment (hereinafter referred to as MOE) of Japan on the 7th Japan-China High Level Consultation on Maritime Affairs, the 1st China-Japan Marine Debris Workshop was held in Shanghai, China on November 21st - 22nd, 2017.

The officials and experts for Chinese and Japanese ocean research institutes and universities attended the Workshop. The experts from both sides exchanged their research work, practices and achievements made by their research. Both parties reached the consensus to further strengthen collaboration on the research of microplastics in the future and agreed to hold the 2nd workshop in Japan in 2018.
