The Upcoming Tenth Meeting of the Regional EST Forum in Asia

The Ministry of the Environment (MOEJ), United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD), Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), Lao PDR, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD) and Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) will jointly organize the Intergovernmental Tenth Meeting of the Regional EST (Environmentally Sustainable Transport) Forum in Asia on March 14-16, 2017 at Don Chan Palace Hotel & Convention, Vientiane, Lao PDR.

With the objective of achieving EST, the Regional EST Forum in Asia, a high-level policy dialogue, is attended by 25 Asian countries. The MOEJ is willing to take its active efforts towards achieving EST in the Asian region.

At this Tenth Meeting, the discussion will also include experts of environmental and transport fields. The agenda of the meeting is as follows:

• Major Challenges, Progress and Achievements by countries on the implementation of Bangkok 2020 Declaration for EST; and

• 2030 Road Map for Sustainable Transport ~Aliging with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
