Results of the survey on the enforcement status of the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act and Soil Contamination Investigations and Countermeasures in FY 2014
The MOE has conducted its annual survey on the enforcement status of the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act and Soil Contamination Investigations and Countermeasures, which has been reported or recognized by prefectures and/or Cabinet-order designated cities.
The number of Soil Contamination Investigations reported in FY 2014, which started in April 2014and ended in March 2015, based on the said law was 826.
As a result of the said Soil Contamination Investigations, 532 Areas (84 Areas: Areas which Require Action, 448 Areas: Areas for which Change to Form or Nature Require Notification) showed to exceed the designated standards, which resulted in the addition on the list of designated areas for FY 2014.
