The Upcoming Ninth Meeting of the Regional EST Forum in Asia

The MOE of Japan, United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD), Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT) of Nepal, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) will jointly organize the Intergovernmental Ninth Meeting of the Regional EST[i] Forum in Asia on 18-20 November, 2015 at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, Nepal.

With the objective of achieving environmentally sustainable transport, the Regional EST Forum in Asia, a high-level policy dialogue is currently attended by 24 Asian countries. The MOE of Japan will continue its active efforts towards achieving environmentally sustainable transport in the Asian region, in cooperation with related agencies including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.

At this Ninth Meeting, the discussion will also include experts of transport and environmental fields, international organizations that promote EST measures of the following agenda:
Major Challenges, Progress and Achievements by countries on the implementation of Bangkok 2020 Declaration.
EST for Resiliency－Building safe, smart, low-carbon and disaster resilient cities in Asia.
