Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden "Image Fragrance Contest" Award Ceremony

The Ministry of the Environment supports the "Image Fragrance Contest" that awards those who create fragrances that best represent an image of the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. The contest is one of the commemorative events that celebrate the garden's 100th anniversary. The award ceremony will be held on October 29, 2006, at the Shinjuku Gyoen.

At the ceremony, Minister of the Environment Prize (1 award), Aroma Environment Association of Japan Prize (1 award), and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden Prizes (3 awards) will be given to best fragrances. The contest aims at raising consciousness and encouraging actions among the public to protect and nurture a comfortable environment free of bad odors, through the creation and appreciation of fragrances that give a positive image of naturally fragrant scenery of Shinjuku Gyoen. The contest is sponsored by the Aroma Environment Association of Japan.
