Public comments for the notice on noxious liquid substances specified by the Ministry of the Environment, based on the decision of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of International Maritime Organization

The transport and discharge of noxious liquid substances by ocean vessels has been regulated by the Law relating to the Prevention of Marine Pollution and Maritime Disaster, which corresponds to the 1978 protocol relating to the international convention for the prevention of pollution from ships (Marpol 73/78). The MOE is proceeding with domestic legal processes for enabling the transport of certain substances listed in last year's MEPC.2/Circular. Therefore, this announcement is also made to gather nationwide public opinion about the procedures from February 25 (Mon) to March 26 (Tue).
