Decision about a mark representing the recycle of small waste electrical and electronic equipment.

In order to promote the recycling of small waste electrical and electronic equipment such as cellular phones, portable game consoles a new law called "Act on Promotion of Recycling of Small Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment" is due to be enforced in April, 2013. After the implementation of this law, municipal governments are to collect small electrical and electronic equipment wastes discharged by consumers in various ways in line with the current conditions of each region, and to hand them over to those who are able to recycle the waste appropriately.
We decided to create a mark which indicates the municipal governments are complying with this law or that entrepreneurs are certified by the minister under this law, so that reliable places and partners for recycling will be easily recognizable at a glance whenever consumers discharge small electrical and electronic equipment wastes. See the attached file.
Although it is written "E-waste" on this mark, the law applies only to small electrical and electronic equipment wastes. Please make sure that the four consumer electrical articles (television set, air conditioner, refrigerator and washing machine) are not objects of this law.
