Results of the eleventh Conference of the Representatives to the Convention on Biological Diversity

The eleventh Conference of the Representatives (COP11) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) was held from the 8th to the 19th of October, 2012 in Hyderabad, India.
As the representatives from Japan, the former Environment Minister Ryu Matsumoto, who served as the COP10 President, made an address at the opening plenary on the 8th, the current Minister of the Environment Hiroyuki Nagahama attended the opening of the high-level segment on the 16th, and officials from relevant ministries and agencies of the Government of Japan participated in the conference.
COP11 adopted a number of decisions for issues including the targets on the resource mobilization strategy, and succeeded in the maintenance of the momentum fostered at COP10 towards the achievement of the Aichi Targets.
