Result of the 8th Meeting of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Study Group for Cooperation Activities on Environmental Management

The MOE of Japan held the above mentioned meeting with the Institute of Science for Environmental Management, the Vietnam Environment Administration (ISEM-VEA), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on March 5th, 2012, in Tokyo (venue: MOE Japan and Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center).

- Results of the joint policy research of FY2011 were reported from both the Japanese side and Vietnamese side. The Vietnamese side also reported that the outputs of this Vietnam-Japan bilateral cooperation would be introduced into amendment of the Vietnamese legal system and governmental structures.
- They reconfirmed each orientation of the outputs achieved in this 3-year Vietnam-Japan cooperation in the concept of packaged policy approach consisting of "dissemination of environmental technologies", "legal system development" and "human resources development".
- They shared the common awareness that to achieve outcomes from the outputs of this bilateral cooperation, ongoing efforts in all Vietnamese stakeholders were fundamental.
- They confirmed completion of Vietnam-Japan bilateral cooperation and agreed to maintain continuous exchange.
