Global Launching of the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity 2011-2020

The United Nations has designated the 10-year period 2011-2020 as "The UN Decade for Biodiversity" to promote efforts worldwide aimed at realizing the Aichi Biodiversity Targets that were adopted at the 10th Meeting of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The event is intended to both promote public awareness of the UNDB, and also to support developing countries implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity.
