Campaign for Environmentally Friendly Shopping to be Waged during the 3R Promotion Month

October is the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) promotion month. During the month, the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) will wage a campaign for "environmentally friendly shopping" with the cooperation of the Cabinet Office (CAO), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the 3R Promotion Forum (3R-PF). The MOE encourages the use of one's own shopping bags and cloth wrappers (furoshiki) to reduce the use of plastic shopping bags. As part of the campaign, the idea will be promoted at 3R conventions held in different parts of the country and on related Internet websites (for example, Team-minus 6% http://www.team-6.jp/).
