Enforcement of Amended Air Pollution Control Law and Amendments to the Orders and Regulations of the Amended Air Pollution Control Law

In February this year, amendments to the Air Pollution Control Law were promulgated to ensure that air pollution by asbestos dust is prevented. As a result of the amendments, all structures using asbestos, not only buildings, are now subject to requirements to take measures to prevent asbestos dust from entering the environment during dismantling work, etc. The effective date of the amendments will be October 1, 2006. In accordance with the law's amendments, the cabinet order and enforcement regulations providing for specific rules will also be amended to cover the changes.
