Public Comments on Amendments to the Orders and Regulations of the Air Pollution Control Law Made Available
The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) invited comments from the general public regarding proposed amendments to the orders and regulations of the amended Air Pollution Control Law. All structures using asbestos, not only buildings, are now subject to requirements to take measures to prevent asbestos dust from entering the environment during dismantling work, etc. The effective date of the amendments will be October 1, 2006.
Public comments on the amendments had been invited from June 26 to July 25. A summary of the comments received is available on the Ministry of the Environment website (in Japanese).
