Quality Assurance and Quality Control Survey of Environmental Measurement and Analysis FY 2010 Brief

The MOE has summarized results concerning "The Quality Assurance and Quality Control Survey of Environmental Measurement and Analysis" in FY 2010.

The issues covered by the survey were as follows:

<Basic survey>
Soil sample: Lead(Pb), Copper(Cu), Fluorine(F) and Calcium(Ca)

<Advanced survey>
Simulated air sampling (follow-up survey as last fiscal year): Volatile Organic Compounds (Benzene, 1,2-Dichloroethane, Trimethylbenzene, and Carbon tetrachloride)
Simulated Water sampling: Pesticide (Dichlorvos, Fenobucarb) and other (Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid, Perfluorooctanoic acid)
Bottom Sediment sampling: Polychlorinated biphenyl

Answers of participants have been sent from 94 local governments and 371 private organizations. The survey result in FY 2010 was totally good or suitable precision.

Based on these results, the MOE plans to hold follow-up workshops (language: Japanese only) to explain the major points of the analysis and give feedback to participating institutions in 2 cities (Tokyo and Osaka) in July, 2011.
