Public Comments Invited regarding Changes to Geographical Coverage and Planning of National and Quasi-National Parks

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) invites comments from the general public regarding proposed changes to geographical coverage and park planning of five parks (three national and two quasi-national parks). Changes include designation of regulated utilization zone in Yoshino-Kumano National Park, expansion of park area in Kirishima-Yaku National Park, etc. Also, in the special area of Hida-Kisogawa Quasi-National Park, Chionanthus retusus will be added to the list of items of which gathering and damaging are prohibited. A summary of comments received will be compiled and released. These comments will be reported at the meeting of the Nature Conservation Committee of the Central Environment Council.
