Commemorative event for the International Year of Biodiversity to be held

This year is the International Year of Biodiversity proclaimed by the United Nations. As the UN resolution has encouraged all the member states to hold and participate in commemorative events to celebrate such an international year, the MOE plans to hold the IYB commemorative event on April 29, namely Greenery Day, to increase momentum for conservation of biodiversity and its sustainable use toward COP10 to be held in October, also in response to such a call from the UN.
The event will comprise the awarding ceremony for the Greenery Day Minister of the Environment's Prize for Meritorious Service Related to the Natural Environment as well as the ceremony for "My Action Declaration" by the "Life on Earth" Supporters' Club members.
