Results of the 3rd Meeting of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Study Group for Cooperation Activities on Environmental Management

The MOE of Japan held the above-mentioned closed-door meeting with the Institute of Science for Environmental Management, the Vietnam Environment Administration (ISEM-VEA), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from the 15th to the 16th of March, 2010, in Tokyo, Japan.

1. From the Vietnamese side, the outline and insufficiencies of environmental legal system in Vietnam were reported. From the Japanese side, effective package plan for optimizing Vietnamese environment management system was suggested. They reported and discussed the results of their joint policy research about wastewater management in Vietnam.

2. They could share information of the current state and their future view and plan for Vietnamese environmental management.

3. They suggested their future plan of the joint policy research and practical project in FY 2010. They agreed on the outline of the plan. The detailed plan will be determined in continuous discussion.
