Result of the Joint Workshop on Enhancement of Environmental Management Capacity in Vietnam
The MOE of Japan held the above-mentioned workshop with the Institute of Science for Environmental Management, the Vietnam Environment Administration (ISEM-VEA), the Ministry of Natural Resources (MONRE) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the 24th of November, 2009, in Hanoi, Vietnam (venue: Hanoi Daewoo Hotel).
After the workshop, they arrived at agreements as below:
- The image of integrated environmental management through the package approach by regulations, technologies, and human resources had been well recognized and developed common awareness by the participants.
- For the application of the package approach, the mechanism which can function effectively in Vietnam is necessary.
- The Vietnamese side expressed high expectations for Japanese versatile cooperation for Vietnamese environmental management and the Japanese side expressed continuing support and its interagency implementation for enhancement of Vietnamese environmental management capacity.
