In order to prevent air pollution by Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM) and photochemical oxidant, the MOE has set a goal of reducing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions from stationary sources by 30% from 2000 by 2010, and has been advancing measures for VOC emission control with an appropriate combination of statutory regulation and voluntary reduction efforts taken by business operators.
With the aim of promoting VOC reduction measures, the MOE commends activities of an individual, group, or business operator that takes the initiative in implementing such measures by voluntary efforts and other means.
