Environmental Cooperation Activities Begun with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Utilizing Past Japanese Experiences and Environmental Technologies in FY2009

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Japan has held the closed meeting with the Institute of Science for Environmental Management, the Vietnam Environment Administration (ISEM-VEA), the Ministry of Natural Resources (MONRE) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on Friday July 17th, 2009 in Hanoi. It will start cooperation activities with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam concerning projects utilizing past Japanese experiences and environmental technologies. In connection, the first meeting of the project was held on July 2nd, 2009 in Tokyo, Japan.

As a result, this Institute and the Office of Environmental Management Technologies (OEMT), the Environmental Management Bureau, the MOE of Japan have reached an agreement on holding periodical meetings of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Study Group in Hanoi and Tokyo, the Joint Policy Research for environmental management in Vietnam and a workshop to spread environmental management approaches and environmental technologies.
