COOL ASIA 2006

Ministry of the Environment is not only promoting further diffusion and implementation of "COOL BIZ" but also hosting a fashion event "COOL ASIA 2006" on May 31 (Wed) at Omotesando Hills (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) aiming to send a message for mitigation of global warming toward the rest of the world from Asia.

This is a part of activities of "Team minus 6%," a national campaign to fight global warming.

Inviting cabinet ministers, foreign embassies, Japanese and overseas personalities, various events will take place such as introduction of advanced case of applying "COOL BIZ," this year's COOL BIZ style, and so on.

Event Overview

[Concept]
This is an event not only to establish "COOL BIZ," a cool, effective and stylish business style at work places to promote to set the temperature of air conditioner to 28 degrees C in summer to fight global warming, but also to send a message of mitigation of global warming from Asia toward the rest of the world, by collaborating with Asian countries that have a traditional culture to dress at formal scenes its national costume which fit its hot and humid climate similarly to Japan.
