Sea Area Monitoring in Relation to ALPS Treated Water (Announcement of Monitoring Results)

Sea Area Monitoring in Relation to ALPS Treated Water (Announcement of Monitoring Results)_Figure

From the perspective of securing safety and thoroughly ensuring measures against reputational damage upon the discharge of ALPS treated water, the national government and other relevant organizations have been conducting sea area monitoring. The results of the monitoring regarding tritium, etc. conducted by relevant ministries and agencies are published on their webpages, etc.

The MOE's website, “ALPS Treated Water Marine Monitoring Information,” contains results of the monitoring regarding tritium, etc. conducted by other relevant organizations, together with those by the MOE.

Results of the monitoring conducted so far show that tritium concentrations, etc. were sufficiently low compared to the regulatory standards (limit for concentration required by law) and would have no adverse impact on human health and the environment.
