Abstract
This seminar is a joint seminar between NEDO, which organizes ICEF, and AIST, which organizes RD20.
<Part1> Artificial Intelligence for Climate Change Mitigation 2.0(NEDO)
This seminar will be the formal public release of the 2024 ICEF Roadmap -- “Artificial Intelligence for Climate Change Mitigation 2.0.”
The 2023 ICEF Roadmap -- “Artificial Intelligence for Climate Change Mitigation” -- attracted considerable interest from governments, media and experts around the world. This year’s ICEF Roadmap comprehensively updates the prior edition, adds six new chapters (on aviation, buildings, carbon capture, nuclear power, extreme weather response and large language models) and provides 5-10 specific, actionable recommendations in each chapter.
<Part2> Challenge of RD20 to achieve carbon neutrality (AIST)
RD20 is a global initiative among G20 leading research institutes to promote international collaboration of R&D for achiving carbon neutrality. In this seminar, recent activity of RD20 will be introduced with R&D achievement, including energy management technology, in the RD20 member institutes. Collaborative activities with other international initiatives will be also presented.Program
