Park Etiquette

In order for everyone to have a pleasant experience, the visitors to the national parks are advised to respect nature and observe the following:

  • Do not throw away any trash.
  • Do not pick wild flowers/damage plants.
  • Do not feed wild animals.
  • No hunting or fishing.
  • No smoking while walking.
  • Bonfires / recreational fires are only permitted in designated areas.

Requests Regarding Usage of the Tottori Sand Dunes

In order to protect the beautiful sand dune landscape and to ensure that everyone can enjoy using the sand dunes, please observe the following rules while in the sand dunes.

  • Do not drive cars / ride motorbikes in the dunes.
  • Do not take sand.
  • Do not draw letters or pictures on the slopes of the sand dunes.
  • Do not allow your pets to roam free.
  • Do not litter.
  • Do not light fireworks.
  • Do not camp in areas other than designated campgrounds.
  • Do not behave in a way that causes inconvenience to other park users.
