Results of the Third Verification Tests for Incineration of Low-contaminated PCB Wastes

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) carried out the third verification tests for the incineration of low-contaminated PCB wastes (dielectric oil containing PCB concentrations of several dozen ppm) at three facilities nationwide in September 2007, in collaboration with Akita Prefecture, Kawasaki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, as well as Eco-System Kosaka Co., Ltd., Kanagawa Waste Disposal Foundation, Inc. and Taiheiyo Cement Corporation. These results enabled MOE to confirm that low-contaminated PCB wastes were decomposed safely without hazardously affecting the surrounding areas.
