Green Purchasing Achieved by the State and Other Entities and Its Environmental Load Reduction Effect

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) has compiled the state of green purchasing achieved by the state and other entities and estimated its effect on CO2 reduction. The MOE also studied the degree of market formation for the items (designated procurement items) that meet the basic criteria provided in the Law on Promoting Green Purchasing.

The procurement level achieved by the state and other entities has been kept high, and it is estimated that the reduction of 61,000 tons of CO2 emission was achieved in 2005. The share of eco-friendly goods on the market has been expanding. The effect of green purchasing is especially visible on stationery purchased by the state and other entities.
