The Paris Conference for Global Ecological Governance Held

The Paris Conference for Global Ecological Governance was held on February 2-3 in Paris.
Approximately 150 prominent personalities such as scientists, economists, business leaders, and heads of international organizations from every region of the world participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the measures for serious global environment problems, including climate change and the loss of biodiversity. French President Jacques Chirac sent out a "Paris Call for Action" at the end of the conference.
Shinako TSUCHIYA, Senior Vice-Minister of the Environment, participated in the meeting and had bilateral meetings with the UK, EC and Portugal.
