Results of the 3rd Meeting of the Indonesia-Japan Joint Policy Study Working Group and Technical Seminar in North Sumatra Province

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) of Japan held the 3rd meeting of the Indonesia-Japan joint policy study working group with the Deputy VII, State Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia (KLH), the Environment Agency of North Sumatra Province, the Environment Agency of Langkat Regency and the PTPN II model factory on the 18th of June, 2013 and hosted technical seminar on industrial wastewater management on the 19-20th of June, 2013 in Medan, Indonesia.

Results of the Joint Policy Study Working Group are as follows (June, 18th 2013):
-Japanese participants summarize the previous activities and explained action plan of this year.
-Indonesian participants reported current status and efforts on their task of the joint policy research and Japanese experts gave advices on their respective problems.
-We decided to make "guideline on measure of wastewater treatment in CPO manufacturing plants", and we had a discussion about the contents, principles for the preparation, and contexture.
-We discussed the mechanism for disseminating the fruit of this project.

The contents of technical Seminar are as follows:
-Sludge treatment facilities suitable for CPO industry (June 19th, 2013)
-Role of local government in environmental measures of plant (June 20th,2013)
