Short-tailed Albatross observed in San Francisco, U.S. after leaving its nest in Mukojima
San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory's Alvaro Jaramillo photographed a Short-tailed Albatross individual at 50 kilometers (approximately 30 miles) off the coast of San Francisco on October 11, 2009. In the US-Japan Joint Research, the artificially-bred Short-tailed Albatross was being tracked by satellite after leaving its nest.
