The ninth Inter-Governmental Meeting of Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) was jointly held with the ninth Scientific Planning Group meeting from March 22 to 24, 2004 in Canberra, Australia. The meeting mainly discussed the following agenda items.

| - | APN capacity building strategies |
| - | Adoption of the budget plan in FY2004 |
| - | Discussion of the next strategic plan toward the tenth anniversary of APN |
The tenth inter-governmental meeting will be held from April 12 to 14, 2005 in Kobe city in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of APN.
