Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and Resources for the Future (REF) organized a workshop on climate policy in the U.S. and Japan on February 12, 2004 in Washington D.C., USA. It is sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment, Japan.
Over 60 participants attended the workshop from both Japan and the U.S. On the U.S. side, there was a variety of people who are influential including those from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), think tanks, environmental NGOs, universities, and businesses. Discussion at the workshop focused on climate change policy of both countries, role of technology, efforts to address climate change by local governments in Japan and the U.S.
