The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) and the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) have jointly set up a website, Environmental Technology Information Network (available in Japanese only, http://e-tech.eic.or.jp/index.html), and have begun to provide information about environmental technology to the public at large on August 22, 2003. Developed jointly by the MOE and NIES and operated by the Environmental Information Center (EIC), the site aims to disseminate information as well as raise awareness of the public about technologies beneficial to environmental conservation. The network consists of four components.

(i) Forum of Information on Environmental Technology
