Aso is an active volcano representing Japan. The eruption of a volcano gives us a keen sense of the fact that the earth is a living planet. There are also distinctive natural and human environments created by volcanoes.
At the Aso Volcano Museum, you can have fun learning about a wide range of topics from the perspective of earth science. These topics include the history of Aso, the mechanism of volcanic eruptions, the world's calderas, and volcanoes in space and on the seafloor.
