On July 13, 2022, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and the Ministry of the Environment of the Federative Republic of Brazil signed a Declaration to advance bilateral environmental cooperation, focusing on climate change measures.
In March 2025, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Brazil signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the environmental field.
