Publication of the summary report of the IAEA-MOE Japan 1st Experts Meeting on Volume Reduction and Recycling of Removed Soil Arising from Decontamination Activities

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Japan publicizes the summary report of the IAEA-MOE Japan 1st Experts Meeting on Volume Reduction and Recycling of Removed Soil Arising from Decontamination Activities, which was compiled by the IAEA and submitted to MOE Japan. The meeting was held by the IAEA in cooperation with MOE Japan from May 8 to 12, 2023.

Summary

The IAEA-MOE Japan 1st Experts Meeting was held in cooperation with MOE Japan in Tokyo and Fukushima (Fukushima City, Iitate Village, Futaba Town and Okuma Town) from May 8 to 12, to assess and advise on measures taken by MOE Japan concerning the recycling of removed soil.
 
MOE Japan publicizes the summary report of the IAEA-MOE Japan 1st Experts Meeting received from the IAEA, which summarizes the views exchanged between the IAEA experts and MOE Japan. This report will also be made available by the IAEA.

The 2nd Experts Meeting

The IAEA-MOE Japan 2nd Experts Meeting is scheduled to be held from October 23 to 27 of this year at the IAEA’s headquarters in Vienna, Austria (in a hybrid format of in-person and online meetings).
