MOE Japan selected six applications for the FY2022 Technology Development and Demonstration Project for Regional Symbiosis and Cross-Sectoral Carbon Neutrality (Second Round)

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Japan, selected six applications for the "FY2022 Technology Development and Demonstration Project for Regional Symbiosis and Cross-Sectoral Carbon Neutrality (Second Round)."

1. Project outline

In order to achieve a decarbonized society, it is essential to create innovation to further reduce CO2 emissions in all sectors and to implement it in the society at an early stage. In particular, it is important to create decarbonized, sustainable, resilient, and vibrant local communities by taking advantage of the characteristics of each region. MOE Japan has been aiming to simultaneously achieve significant reduction of CO2 emissions and regional vitalization. MOE Japan calls for proposals on high technologies and demonstration to significantly reduce CO2 emissions and enhance climate action in the future towards building regional circular and ecological areas as set forth in the Fifth Basic Environment Plan and a decarbonized society at early stage based on the Long-Term Strategy under the Paris Agreement.
