Results of Public Comments Regarding the 'Draft on the Matters Appended to the Standard for Testing Facilities which Conduct the Testing of New Chemical Substances, etc. under the "Chemical Substances Control Law"'

From April 28 to May 27, 2008, the Ministry of the Environment (MOE), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) invited public comments regarding the 'Draft of the Matters Appended to Standard for Testing Facilities which Conduct the Testing of New Chemical Substances etc. under the "Chemical Substances Control Law"'. Six comments were received, and responses to the comments have been announced. Taking these comments into consideration, three ministries amended two notices to (1) specify matters for sediment-water chironomid toxicity testing and the avian reproduction testing appended to Standard for Testing Facilities which Conduct the Testing of New Chemical Substances etc. under the "Chemical Substances Control Law" (GLP for industrial chemical substances), and to (2) modify the method of sediment-water chironomid toxicity testing which studies of the hazardous properties of Type III Monitoring Chemical Substances.
