The Bill Partially Amending the Act on Pollution-Related Health Damage Compensation

The bill to partially amend the Act on Pollution-Related Health Damage Compensation is expected to be adopted by Cabinet on February 1, 2008 and is to be submitted to the 169th session of the Diet. Article 9, the supplementary provision of this Act, provides that part of compensation costs for certified victims be transferred from part of the revenue from the automobile weight tax. As this provision will expire at the end of FY 2007, this bill will therefore extend the real term to the end of FY 2017.
