Marine Stop Idling Experiment at the Takeshiba Wharf to Begin in Autumn 2006
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT) and the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) plan to jointly conduct a field experiment to test on-shore power supply for a ship at the Takeshiba Wharf in Tokyo starting in the autumn of 2006.
The experiments will be implemented in FY2006 and FY2007. After clarifying and resolving technical, operational, and safety issues through the experiment, a guide for the maintenance and operation of the on-shore facility will be drafted by the ministries.
